Dropshipping SaaS for Mercado Livre and Shopee sellers: the Velify case study

Dropshipping SaaS for Mercado Livre and Shopee sellers: supplier catalog, listings through the official API, AI and Pix payments to suppliers.

The interface is in Portuguese: the system runs for a Brazilian client. The engineering is the same we ship abroad.

Client context

Velify is a dropshipping SaaS for people who sell on Mercado Livre and Shopee, Brazil's largest marketplaces, without holding stock. The seller picks products from a catalog of Brazilian suppliers, publishes the listing, follows the sales and pays the supplier, who ships straight to the buyer. Suppliers and administrators have their own panels inside the same product.

It is sold by subscription to many sellers, with monthly and six month plans, training inside the platform and an affiliate program. The client, Gustavo, arrived with the product designed on paper; VTA built it from the database to the interface.

The problem

Marketplace dropshipping runs on three deadlines: list fast, know the moment a sale lands and pay the supplier before the cutoff, or the order does not ship the same day. Done with a spreadsheet, WhatsApp and manual transfers, the seller loses sales and the supplier loses trust.

The technical challenge was talking to Mercado Livre's official API with no shortcuts: OAuth with PKCE, required attributes that change per category, the User Products model with family_name and webhooks that bring every sale into the system. On top of that, the seller's money had to reach the supplier's account automatically and with a record.

What we built

01

Supplier catalog and Mercado Livre listings

The supplier registers products with cost, stock, EAN, brand and photos; the seller lists from the catalog through Mercado Livre's official API, with the category's required attributes and the User Products model. Title and description can be generated with AI, and the published listing gets a direct link to the item on the marketplace. The Shopee connection is awaiting the platform's approval.

02

Sales by webhook and the seller dashboard

Every Mercado Livre sale comes in by webhook and shows up on the dashboard: revenue for the period and for today, profit, average ticket, a daily chart over 7, 30 or 90 days, active listings per marketplace, trending products and a brand ranking. That is the screenshot above, with the figures blurred.

03

Automatic Pix payments to suppliers

The seller pays the supplier inside the platform and the Pix goes out through Mercado Pago straight to the supplier's account, connected by OAuth. Cutoff at noon: paid by then, the order ships the same day. Support tickets and refunds between seller and supplier, also by Pix, are recorded in the same place.

04

Supplier panel

Orders to ship, labels printed in batch, a sales report by period and the supplier's own catalog. The supplier stops answering on WhatsApp what the system already shows.

05

Spy AI, subscription and admin

Spy AI answers what is selling on Mercado Livre and suggests catalog products with an estimated margin. Monthly and six month plans with Applyfy checkout and a lock when the plan expires, notifications, light and dark mode, and an admin panel with clients, suppliers, account blocking and affiliates.

Stack, and why each piece

Next.js
App Router with React 19 and TypeScript; seller, supplier and admin panels in one project, server rendered.
Supabase
Postgres with row level security per role, authentication and storage for photos and receipts. Twenty two versioned migrations and more than 1,400 automated tests with vitest.
API do Mercado Livre
Mercado Livre's official API: OAuth with PKCE, listings with per category attributes and User Products, and sales webhooks.
Mercado Pago
Automatic Pix from the seller to the supplier's account, connected by OAuth, with refunds down the same path.
AI Gateway
Language models behind Spy AI and the title and description generator, with the model switchable by configuration.

Questions about this project

Do you integrate with Mercado Livre's official API?

Yes. Velify uses OAuth with PKCE, publishes listings with each category's required attributes on the User Products model and receives sales by webhook. The same approach works for any marketplace with a public API.

Can supplier payouts be automated with Pix?

Yes. In Velify the Pix goes out through Mercado Pago straight to the supplier's account, connected by OAuth, with refunds down the same path. Every payment is recorded next to the order that originated it.

What about Shopee?

The Shopee connection is going through the platform's approval process. We will only call it ready when it is in production.

Do you build SaaS products with more than one user role?

Yes. Each role has its own navigation, database permissions (row level security) and screens, inside a single product. Velify has seller, supplier and admin, and the affiliate reuses the seller dashboard.

What does a SaaS like Velify cost?

It depends on the modules, the marketplace and payment integrations and the expected number of users. Projects start at US$ 25,000. The fixed price and the deliverables are agreed in writing before any code is written.

Who runs the system after launch?

The same engineers who built it. Monitoring, fixes and new features stay with us, and you talk directly to the people who wrote the code.
